Three members of law enforcement perished and more than a dozen additional individuals were hurt in a seemingly deliberate blast caused by gas at a rural property in Italy's north.

The detonation took place as officers and emergency crews approached the residence close to Verona to carry out an court-ordered eviction for two brothers and a sister aged in their 50s and 60s.

The three deceased individuals were members of the Italian military police.

Investigation Developments

One male and one female were arrested at the location and another man who escaped subsequent to the incident was found not long after. All three have been transported to hospital.
